Best 1 1/2 wrenching session ever with my little helper. After her birthday two days ago it's been "I can do that now because I'm 3!" We talked about how she is going to get a motorcycle soon and race/jump it. Oh boy...
She was a big help and never got bored or wanted to go in. Stayed out in the cold garage helping me and turning wrenches.
Got my new GPR steering stabilizer mounted under my bars to prevent the bars from getting jerked out of my hands due to the front wheel deflecting off a rock or deep sand. Another big bonus is it came with an extra 1 1/2 inch riser added for better ergonomics during long rides (like, oh, maybe 1400 miles through Idaho or something) :-)
I wonder what she would do with 10 (creative) minutes alone with your motorcycle and the tools… It could be an interesting experiment.
ReplyDelete"OK so when do you think I can get a dirt bike motorcycle Mom?" "Well, you will have to save up some more $, son". "OK so when can I start something so I can save up and when will that be, how long? When we get home tonight?" "Not right away son, but very soon, we can talk about it more later". "OK so when will that be?" "Well, AndyI know it can feel hard to wait but you know what you want and we have just seen that they do carry dirt bikes in your size. That's exciting isn't it, we won't forget this and we WILL work on it." "OK so when do you think that will be mom, how long?" - age 4
ReplyDeleteAll those amazing queries, after just stopping on a whim, from a trip back to Asheville from Robbinsville, at a Waynesville Motorcycle shop and discovering they actually DID have dirt bike motorcycles in his size (A mother's OMG what have I done? moment). Three years later and saving half the cost himself by selling (I made and he sold) Christmas wreaths = 1st dirt bike motorcycle. And I might add that you sold it yourself for more than you paid for it, some 3 years later when you purchased a larger bike to ride. You were born READY to go. Can you spell, ZOOM ZOOM. I believe in you. ALWAYS! Seems it is rubbing off and now you will be believing in Pyper's dreams. Have fun on the 1400 mile run soon.
